۲-way (oxidation) Catalysts
In most gas streams, carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) can be removed by combination with oxygen (O2) using an oxidation catalyst (also known as a 2-way catalyst):
CO + ½ O2 → CO2
[HC] + O2 → CO2 + H2O
This reaction is suitable for oxygen-rich (lean) gas streams, typical of diesel exhaust and emissions from many industrial processes.
Many diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems incorporate an oxidation catalyst, either as a coating on the filter or as a separate element.
In diesel exhaust applications, oxidation catalysts may also achieve up to 30% reduction of particulate matter (PM) emissions.
Three-Way Catalysts
When automobile exhaust passed the three-way catalyst, the Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrocarbons (HC) are simultaneously converted over the three-ways catalyst during the redox reaction. CO and HC are oxidized to form water (H2O) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). NOx is reduced to Nitrogen (N2). Three-way catalyst was reliable and effective in reducing noxious tailpipe emissions.
Diesel catalyst
The main components of diesel engine exhaust are CO, HC, NOx and PM used to ensure the purification of the exhaust gases with DOC, SCR, ASC, CDPF and POC, etc. According to the emission level demand and the exhaust characteristics of the engines, different products are combined to purify the exhaust gas and particle matter (PM) simultaneously. Catalysts for diesel engines are applied to light vehicles (such as passenger car, SUV, MPV), heavy duty vehicles (such as buses, heavy truck, forklift, etc.), stationary equipment and non-road vehicles.
Compressed Natural Gas Catalysts
Applied to emission control of CNG and LPG engine with high oxidizing ability for low-chain hydrocarbons emission such as methane.
Motorcycle/General Machinery Catalysts
For application to emission control of motorcycle and general machinery Parto Farazan can design catalysts with metal substrates to convert Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrocarbons (HC) into Carbon Dioxide(CO2)water (H2O) and nitrogen (N2).
